Possibilities of using television programmes and shows in practical activities at the first grade of primary school

This thesis deals with the topic of the use of television programmes and shows in the teaching of practical activities at the first grade of primary school. The theoretical part is focused on the characteristics of a pupil of the younger school age, inquiry-based instruction and teaching, and the goals and concepts of primary technical literacy. The preparatory studies also discuss the technical areas of the Framework Curriculum for Primary Education, the cross-cutting theme of Media Education and characterise selected television educational programmes and shows. In the practical part, there are five themes which are processed, including didactic documentation, into the form of original preparations for teaching at the first grade of primary school. The effectiveness of some of the themes has been verified.
Possibilities of using leisure and experiential pedagogy in relation to the teaching of biology

This bachelor thesis deals with experiential education and leisure education and possibilities of using their aspects in schools teaching, especially in Biology and Natural history. There is a need for clarification of definitions in the introduction, which will be followed by a brief chapter on history of experiential learning and leisure education in Czech environment. The main goal of this thesis is to point out that aspects of both branches of education have already been used in some modern education methods. Selected methods are closely described, for example their possible benefits and disadvantages or their extent in education at Czech schools. In conclusion, those methods are then compared with experiential learning and leisure education for confirmation of the main hypothesis of this thesis.
Efficiency of selected educational practices in biology teaching

The aim of the dissertation is to compare the efficiency of inquiry-based teaching versus standard frontal teaching on the topic of the human excretory system at secondary school. In the theoretical part of the thesis a content analysis of pedagogical and psychological literature, focusing on the efficiency of education and inquiry-based teachig, was conducted. Furthermore current Czech curricular documents were analyzed, i.e. the Framework Education Programme for secondary schools and available biology textbooks for secondary schools. In the practical part, based on these analyses and the study of pedagogical and psychological literature, lesson plans for the frontal teaching and inquiry-based teaching were prepared, including a proposal for research activities for experimental education. To compare the efficiency of selected teaching methods, a research tool was created - a pre-test, a post-test 1, a post-test 2 and questionnaires for students and teachers. Students and teachers of seven grammar schools in Prague were involved in the didactic experiment. The aim of the questionnaire was to provide further data and describe in detail the statistical data collected from the testing of the students. Inquiry-stimulating problems in the teaching of geometry

The stimulus of inquire activities in the teaching of geometry is a geometrical problem which describes an unknown, undefined or ambiguous situation and requires its complexe exploration. Six inquiry-stimulating problems of various areas of elementary geometry are described in the paper.
